  • FS: Vocas Handgrip Kit in Custom Black Leather, 19mm/15mm Bracket, Rosette Extenders

Hello! I've got this lovely Vocas Handgrip Kit for sale, which includes two handgrips, a clamping bracking with Arri rosettes which can be used on either 19mm or 15mm rods, as well as two double sided short rosette extenders.

What makes this set extra awesome is that they are in a custom black leather, instead of the tan leather that Vocas usually uses. The person I bought these from claimed that they were prototypes made at the request of Arri, but I can't substantiate that either way. What I can say is that the custom leatherwork looks and feels great. Update: I figured out what they were prototypes for - see below.

More info: Vocas's grips might be the best ones out there of these type. The reason why is due to an ergonomic term called "affordance". The leather can be gripped anywhere, thus any hand size or type of grip can be accomodated. From a knife review, where I learned about it (seriously ): when a grip has "add[ed] grooves and curves ... like those on some of the less comfortable handles in our lineup, they are telling us how to hold the knife instead of allowing us to choose what’s most comfortable" - http://www.cooksillustrated.com/equi...3-chefs-knives (click read more.)

Here are the links to Vocas's page for the two sets of items: http://www.vocas.com/accessories/voc...-two-handgrips , http://www.vocas.com/accessories/sin...nder-shot-66mm

When I bought these they were in demo condition and then I never used them on a shoot, just around the house (I think they're absolutely fantastic, but since I'm using smaller cameras, I found a way to get by using no grips at all.) There is some minor wear, but they look pretty close to new.

The new cost for all of this is $750. Because they are in nice shape and have black leather, which you can't get from Vocas directly, I'm pricing this at $650 shipped in the US (and plus shipping elsewhere), but please feel free to send any offers, even significantly lower.

    Thanks!

So, I just found out today that Alphatron is selling Vocas products under their brand name with a different color scheme (the Alphatron matte boxes, for instance, are black instead of the grey that Vocas normally uses.) They also sell this: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...ip_system.html . Those look just like the Vocas handgrips, except with a different clamping screw, in black leather (just like mine) and with 15mm studio spacing as well.

These, then, were probably the prototypes that Alphatron was sent when they wanted to see what a black leather option looked like. Mystery solved!

Also, I dropped the price to $650 shipped in the US (partly because the extenders I had linked to were a bit different from the ones I have and are a little less expensive.) However, please feel free to send any offers, even significantly lower.

Again, let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!
