Joker - what a vacuous mess. Donít know what I was thinking seeing it. Soaked all night in a bath of kerosene in the hopes of washing this stink off of me. There were some great photography no doubt and the location scout should win an Oscar. And Phoenix - sure throw him an Oscar too - he lost 53 pounds, came up with a good cackle and some nice dance moves. I got stuck watching one of the hangover movies years back and that resulted in another kerosene bath. Same with last years a Star is born. How I thought these two shills cooper and philips would suddenly wake up one day and have sprouted some talent I donít know. It doesnít work that way. In philips case you donít do exploitive/tasteless work and then decide to do a work with some gravitas. Philips and the likes would pimp their mother for a guest spot on the jimmy fallon show. I found the film exploitive of humanity. Itís porn of some kind. Canít quite put my finger on it. Anyway - the ghouls of Hollywood are alive and well.

I enjoyed it. IMO, I like to see boundaries pushed hard in narrative filmmaking even if it is exploitive of anything and everything. I'm tired of the typical comic sequences. Harley Quinn is coming February 2020 too.

I thought it pushing boundaries for the sake of pushing boundaries - it had no substance, thought or feeling behind any of it. 'Even if it's exploitive of everything and everything." No idea what that means. And the last people on earth I would trust with that kind of power is Hollywood hucksters. "Tired of typical comic sequences." it's not a genre I'm at all familiar with. So I wouldn't know. Anyway - glad ya got yer moneys worth.

The film made Gotham the villain, which is why it's brilliant and why there is tremendous buzz about it. My review.

Judging by the trailer Harley Quinn hardly get hurt or down trodden very much. That is the problem with female hero or villian characters in movies. There is not much focus on how they got knock down, pick themselves up and build their characters. They just appear strong, kick ass and entitled right from the beginning. Maybe there is more in the movie but most likely follow the same woke agenda that is the trend in hollywood at the moment.

Haven't seen it yet. Don't plan on it... Interestingly, Scorsese, who the director from what I hear steals prodigiously from, has been critical of the genre and effectively distanced himself from Joker...
