Ran into an issue looking at some enlargements of the image on a shoot I did yesterday that show a regular cross-hatched pattern on the entire image. Does not appear to be FPN, it's something else.

    Here's a screen grab:

Dropbox of the above in full resolution because it's very hard to see here in the forum post. (show it in full-screen on dropbox)

And here's a tiff of that image. It looks this way no matter what scaling option is used in Resolve (Smoother, Sharper, Bilinear).

    Dropbox of the above: https://www.dropbox.com/s/uv9nqcadrm...1.1.1.jpg?dl=0

And finally here's a dropbox link to the 4:1 compressed dng.

Anyone have any idea what's going on here?

It's a debayer/scaling issue in Resolve. If you search the forum you'll find other threads about it and what to change to fix it, someone posts about it every now and then.

    Shouldn't affect rendered deliverables.

I've actually read the posts about the debayering issue, and of course I see the obvious screen-door pattern when using the wrong scaling method (for example the optimized scaling method shows the screen-door pattern while playing the video but then it reverts to normal when stopping on a frame). And for me both Sharper and Smoother are fine but Bilinear shows the screen-door pattern.

But this is showing up all the way down the chain in the rendered deliverables. Here's a dropbox link to the video and it's in there if you magnify it to 300%.

What's really odd is that I sent the dng to a friend and he rendered it out in Rec709 (I'd only been using BMDFilm) and doesn't see the pattern. Here's an example of that:

Will dig deeper into it tomorrow. Very strange.

Rick, it unfortunately is... not sure why yet but will do more research in the morning.

What else are you doing to the image then? Perhaps it's getting interjected at some stage.

Loaded the DNG into resolve 12.5 - not seeing the issue.

Are you using the latest version of resolve?

Where was the screenshot taken from? inside resolve or inside a video playback software?

    Got it -

    Go into your project settings:

    Select "image scaling"

Change the Resize filter from Bilinear to optimize for playback

On Bilinear I see the effect - on the others, I dont.
