The 5d mark ii helped people "steal" shots in places they weren't supposed to be filming. This camera takes that to a new level.

The thing that really makes me think it would be a great camera to ALWAYS have with you is that when you combine the Zeiss 35mm f2.0 lens with the sensor crop modes of the camera, you end up with 35mm, 50mm, and 70mm equivalent focal lengths. All at f2.0. in a point and shoot sized camera with the exact same FF sensor as the other Sony cameras announced today.

    I think that's pretty cool!

Oh and the lens can be switched into macro mode.

When you factor all of this in, the "fixed" lens camera doesn't seem as limited as you might at first think.

I won't be buying one, but if I had an extra $2800 or if I was shooting a doc film in N. Korea then I'd pick this up.

I hear you, Jorge. If I had an extra 3 grand to blow, I'd certainly be interested; it's a cool little camera. But it's about 50-100 places down the list of photography/cinematography gear that I'd consider spending money on. After the BMC, MFT manual primes would be at the top now. That 17.5mm Voigt is looking pretty sweet...

I know how you feel. It's a sweet camera, but my $3000 will go elsewhere.

This lens might be the main reason I end up with a MFT bmc to compliment my EF one. I'll try to resist though
