  • 1.33 Anamorphic in Resolve

I am having a really hard time trying to work on my anamorphic images in Resolve. I don't understand any of the aspect settings at all.

I am working with RAW images shot through my 1.33 anamorphic lens. What do I need to do to be able to view and render out files in the correct aspect?

    Thanks!

      assuming it's exactly 4:3,

      have you tried:

cropping 2 pixels from the height 2432x1364
then resize to 2432x1023 (that's 2.377 aspect ratio)

you could test to get the exact, numbers, level the camera, level something you know to be square(level vertically and horizontally to the camera), or something you know the dimensions of. not too close to the camera.

align a ruler, tape measure, a right angle triangle ruler, a printer paper, anything as long as it's perfectly aligned. a rubix cube.

Ok, cool that seems to work. I will find out the exact resolution that I need to use and go with that.

        Thanks!

no problem, if that worked then here is a list.

crop height to change height to aspect ratio
          1364 1023 2.377321603
          1360 1020 2.384313725
          1356 1017 2.391347099
          1352 1014 2.398422091
          1348 1011 2.40553907

the even height numbers might produce better results when encoding later on.
