  • ND / Filter Stickers

    Hi There

I often see some stickets applied to the matte box which describe the filters that are in it. Any thoughts on that? How to make / get them and how to apply them to know for sure which filter is in which exact filter state?

    Thank's for any advice!

Well making them is pretty easy. I work as a 2nd AC and made quite a few of them.

If you want them to look really good and clean you will need two things: adhesive Velcro and a Brother P-Touch (or similar labeling device).

Put a long stripe of velcro on the left side of your matte box (e.g. the soft side).
Print out your filter labels (ND .3 / ND .6 / POL / BPM 1/4 .....) and stick them on the other type of velcro (e.g. the hard side)
Cut the labels to your desired size.
    Done.

Say you have a 3 stage mattebox with 3 filters used. Starting from the top your frist label refers to the filter closest to the lens and so on... (or vise versa).

If you don't have a P-touch you can also write the labels by hand on a piece of tape and sick it onto the velcro. If you want them to last longer put a layer of clean tape on top of it to protect it.

      have fun
