  • URGENT - Apple publicly commit to work with Nvidia on drivers for Mac OS 10.14

    Guys,

long time since I've posted... Things have grown to be too busy for me!

    Anywho.

Please Please PLEASE go vote here to get Nvidia support back for Mac machines:

    https://www.change.org/p/tim-cook-ap...s_more.control

Quite annoying that I cannot upgrade my Mac Pro editing machine, because I rock Nvidia, & Apple will not release drivers(or let Nvidia do so) to support it for Mojave OS.
Yes I know High Sierra is fine, & I have been able to carry on editing in Adobe just fine, but sad to know I can't keep my machine up to date.

I'm sure I'm not the only one here feeling the pain.
    Let's see some change happen!

RIP Apple. Seems like their days are numbered with every announcement they make. Good riddance! I cant wait for their overpriced technology to no longer be the “industry standard”.

      Voted.

Although I also very much agree with GeranSimpson on his above statement.
To me it does not look like Apple WANTS to continue to support our type of hardware requirements.
Cameras: Blackmagic Cinema Camera, Blackmagic Pocket Camera (x2), Panasonic GH2 (x2), Sony RX100 ii, Canon 6D, Canon T2i,
Mics: Sennheiser, AKG, Shure, Sanken, Audio-Technica, Audix
Lights: Every Chinese clone you can imagine

        *sigh*...

        Y'all are probably right.
        I'm hoping we're wrong!

My 6 year old 12 core Mac Pro tower can edit 4K and 4.6k RAW in real time now. All I had to do was add in a $600 gtx 1080. I did not have to buy a new $3000+ Mac, and the performance is anecdotally very close to the iMac Pro I use in my office (with the exception of render time). That is what I believe Apple is trying to avoid here.

I hate PCs at this point, but honestly I’ll have to go back to Windows if Davinci Resolve 13 gets released in late 2019, and my old, but honestly very capable editing rig can’t run it because I can’t update my OS.

          Apple will lose me.

            All,

This whole Nvidia issue has gotten the attention of Forbes. Forbes is reaching out to Apple as well for some answers, with more radio silence, & will notify when they get some kind of answer. On top of that, there are some prominent people with big businesses that have also signed the petition for Apple to add support for Nvidia Web Drivers...

            Keep signing & sharing!

              Nice...

Jarred Land takes a jab at Apple for not supporting Nvidia:

I signed. We all should even if we don't use Apple and NVIDIA.
