  • Kowa Anamorphic Lens Help

I bought a Kowa Bell and Howell anamorphic and i'm having a tough time finding the right lens for my Pocket Cinema Camera. I would really like to get a older Contax Zeiss or Nikon, but the recent eoshd.com review of the new SLR Magic anamorphic has me rethinking things. It seems a pancake lens works best. All of the photo's i've seen with the kowa adapter are older nikon 50mm's. From the review, it's interesting that the new Sigma with speedboost worked well with the Kowa. It would be nice to get a native MFT lens but the options are slim. I have the panny 20mm that I was going to use first, once I get the clamp. I will probably add the Tokina closeup lens to the mix. I realize the eoshd review is for the SLR magic adapter, and i'm not sure if some of the lenses that were not rated well are due to SLR design vs the kowa.

I was looking at the following:

Contax Zeiss 50mm 1.7 MM. The 1.4 is hard to find.

The Contax Zeiss 45mm 2.8 pancake was mentioned.

    Thanks,
    Jim
