Parafocal is nice to have, but it's pretty low on my personal list, since I never zoom while rolling.
No breathing, or no telescoping though, is something I can use every day.

So does that means those with parfocal zooms have faulty lens and should send them back to Sigma? Doubt it.
My semi-parfocal 18-35 will only do so at F4 and above, strange.

Was able to get my 18-35 to be perfectly parfocal after about ten minutes of adjusting my speedbooster's rear optical element.

Right Zack, the key to a good zoom being parfocal is having the back focus/FFD set correctly. Even a $30K Cine zoom will not be parfocal, if this is not set correctly. The Speed Booster made a nice adjustsble lens mount, to get the FFD dialed in.
          Cheers

If you already have the lens it's minus 800 dollars, to do the conversion.

Mine parfocal on my EF mount BMPC 4k and Mini 4.6k, and also parfocal on the Pocket with metabone SB after adjustment.

Well, there is some good QC on the BM EF lens mounts. My Angie Cine zoom was parfocal (correct ffd on lens mount) on the Pocket MFT mount camera with a WC PL adapter, but when I,moved it to the Micro Cinema MFT mount, the Micro FFD on the MFT mount was off enough, so,lens was no longer parfocal when zooming. I had to reshim the PL adapter to get correct FFD back.
