  • Powering Metabones Speedbooster on BMCC MFT 2.5K

I know that the speedboster needs to be powered by a 5v battery, but I am having trouble finding an external battery that can power both the bmcc and the speedbooster. What are you guys using?

You could use a V-lock battery. Power both the camera and the SB from a D-tap. You'll need to make a custom D-tap cable for the SB that has a regulated 5V Power Inverter. Easy to find as they are used in car installation kits for SAT NaVs and Mobile phones.

Something like this would do the job:

If you are on a budget you could use something like this:

Power the camera from the 12v and the SB from the USB. You'll get much longer shooting from a V-lock tho and it's better suited for cameras as it specifically designed for them.
