  • MFT just arrived. SSD question...

It's hard to believe it's here already.
I need to do some quick shopping for nikon f lens adaptor and SSD.
I know there were some threads about both of those, but can't seem to find them.
Anyone happen to have a link handy?

Many thanks, and look forward to sharing footage soon!

Here is a newish thread on their offical forum,

    http://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/vi...php?f=2&t=9287

It's about updating the list they have, but their are some responses from members about which ones they're using and have found reliable.

I've been a Computer hardware tech for 15 years before a videographer.
Get a Intel SSD , I'd go with a Intel 335 myself. but regardless go Intel Period.
the other ssd's I can reccomend are Intel, Intel and Intel.

      Hope that helps

Got to say that general consensus is that the Sandisk Extreme SSD's seem to work reliably on the BMCC. I'm getting the 240gb ones for my camera.

Yep, Sandisk Extreme 240 is what I've been running, I have used Ultras for pro res shooting. One thing I really like about the BMCC is the easy to find SSDs. I needed another drive in a hurry for a shoot the next morning, I ran down to best buy and bought the fastest drive they had on the shelf, an Intel Cherryville 180 gig SSD, that recorded raw without a problem. Happy shooting and enjoy that camera!

Well, having a SSD in a computer is different from having one in the BMC.

Blackmagic Design's Support wep pages include a list of approved SSDs for the BMCC. Almost all reports on the Sandisk Extreme have been very supportive and it seems to be most frequently recommended. The Digistor drives were used by BMD at NAB 2013 on their demo cameras and may be worth looking into although they are priced higher than the Sandisk Extremes.

I got 4x Intel 520 240GB drives as the blackmagic techs posted that they were very solid and reliable in their testing at the BMD forums. No issues so far *touches wood etc*

I use a Kingston 240GB V200+ which is fine, but if it's not on the list, I guess you're taking your chances.

Stick to the list, I tried some vision tech's because the specs were good, but within a month they were dropping frames. I'm using Sandisk 240s now. MacMall had them for $165 last week.
