  • Recording on URSA Mini Pro while showing on Big Screen

    Hey everyone,
We are doing a conference in coming weeks where part of our work will be fireside interviews with attendees. Client wants to have these recorded of course and show case them on big screen via BNC.

Question is can you record and show it on live screen at same time. I would guess so but last time, I was at the conference, one of the cameras was a Sony and it didn't give live connection to the screen while recording

    Has anyone done this before?

Yes, of course. You can record internally to a CFast or SD card while you send out a clean feed via SDI, simultaneously.

I just had a job with a similar Sony. Everything was good to record 4k and feed an ATEM for a line edit. Except as soon as we hit record on camera the feed to ATEM went black. None of the BM cameras have this issue.

Yes, we had an issue with Sony Camera at a massive conference. As soon as you pressed record, it. So I guess two people haven't had issue while doing this.

Does it also matter the system it's going through, audio video folks at the Conference?

No, it is a Sony issue, the cameras in question can’t do two things at the same time, record and display image via hdmi/SDI. That is what you get with Sony!
            Cheers

Well, with some Sony cameras, to be precise.

Yes, not all Sony cameras, but obviously the ones the OP is using.
