  • Bluetooth trigger for BMPCC4K / UMP - it's here

    ***UPDATE !***

    Pre-order pages are now open!!

    https://www.elementgear.eu/product-c...kmagic-design/
There's a introduction video linked in the product page for more information.

After tons and tons of hours of work (together with Csaba Nagy for the programming and Wifi interface) I can finally announce this great news... three Bluetooth enabled products for the Blackmagic cameras are coming, starting with a "box with triggers" (followed by an ergonomic grip and sphere). Pre-orders starting next week. Stay tuned folks!!

P.s.: Early birds can receive their product mid-June already.

(Can't attach image so uploaded it remotely)

Nice work Rueben! Been craving a stop/start controller for my pocket 4K when using on a gimbal - that should work nicely.

And I see you're from Utrecht. Lovely place, it's a great city. Stayed there a few times when purchasing a campervan for touring around West Europe.

Do you still charge VAT for international customers? And how much would postage add for delivery to Australia?

              Thanks!

You can see a run through here as well: https://vimeo.com/339506834

I won't charge VAT for EU customers (except NL), but I have to charge for those outside of EU. Shipping is € 25.

And yeah, Utrecht is a nice city!

so the unit can be powered by any source plugged into the lemo socket. any specific voltage? meaning it can be mounted remotely anywhere as long as it has a source of power correct?

                  That is correct!

And to add to that: it can be mounted anywhere within Bluetooth reach (5 meters max is what I recommend).

About the power... by default I offer 3 common power cables: USB, USB-C and D-tap. However, I can make different voltages and plugs. Just let me know how you want to power it, and I'll make the correct cable.

Today a Newsshooter article was posted about the triggers:

Ruben, this is awesome. The main reason I wasn't interested in the BMPCC4K was the lack of LANC. This seems to fix that assuming it's low latency and consistent.

Any pictures of the one button box?

You can see the products here ( https://www.elementgear.eu/product-c...kmagic-design/
). A one button box will be just the same as a two button box, but with one button. All customers want a two button "trigger box", so haven't made one.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Oh and it's extremely low latency. Respons just the same as a LANC trigger does for a UMP.

As a hobbyist woodworker, nice choice on the walnut and oil/wax finish, they look stunning. Long live wooden rig elements!

Serious question: why not just put a couple AA batteries or a 9v inside instead of a Lemo power cable?
