  • What's the big deal with those 20 seconds it takes to change a batteries in the first place?

    • I did advocate a battery grip when the Pocket 1 first arrived but it never materialise but was surprise none was announced with the Pocket 2. If the battery door is removable it can only mean one thing.

          • Will the original BMPCC Speedbooster still work with the 4K Pocket?

Physically, maybe. But, the image circle of the BMPCC Speedbooster is S16, so you'll need to heavily crop. At this point I'd say don't bother.

                • I'm excited about everything except the actual body. This might be BMD's ugliest camera.

Still, probably Day 1 for me.

I would agree. This to me is the one major drawback of the Pocket 4K. There is no cheap options when it comes to storage, and the file sizes will be quite a bit larger. I guess we are all waiting for that magical day when CFast Memory cards really do drop down in price.

                        Dont forget:

                        External USB-C SSD 250GB = $130

Being able to record directly to an external SSD is a game changer for those looking for cheap media to record 4K Raw to.

Back when the OG BMPCC first came out I paid $150 per 128GB SD Card.

Yeah, the 1TB T-3 SSD can still be found for around $300-$350 Small ultra fast 1TB media for $300ish!!!! Media prices are not a concern for the new Pocket, sorry.

                          • You need 512GB to record one hour+ of footage. Fast USB 3.1 External SSD = $200-300 but adds size, unsafe sticking bottom cables is it reliable for handled shooting? Is it guarantees no dropped frames?

BTW i am not familiar with CFast cards but see that SanDisk Extreme PRO 512GB CFast 2.0 Memory Card costs about $1000

This ^^ is amazing. I was checking out my local computer store and the external hard drive BM pictured in their press photos is around 170 for 500gb which is very cheap compared to CF2.

Yes, for 4k. or you can shoot 1080 pro-res on a SanDisk Extreme PRO 128GB UHS-I for $65.. I don't get your point.
