It would also be nice to have a horizontal bar going across the battery with 1/4 20 mounting points. I've wanted one for center mounting a larger battery on a quick release.

I also noticed that people use too complicated setup to mount battery to rear side.
Maybe some kind of small sized cheeseplate already exists for this?

Or maybe something like this to mount rear battery plate?

I was thinking this can fit http://www.smallrig.com/smallrig-easy-plate-1598.html but it don't
This is odd mistake in cage design. Distance between rear threaded sides don't fits to common 9mm holes pitch. Only custom made cheese plate will fit.

ha! that is totally my rigged up rig in that "don't" shot. it works well but I'm sure there is a better way to do it. I just had a couple of the NATO clamps in my parts bin and it worked out nicely with my 2-3 juice box batteries.

now...if you can make a bracket to fit this plate on the back of the cage: http://www.smallrig.com/smallrig-v-l...-kit-1846.html - then you can use the included V-lock to stick whatever battery solution there along with a v-mount battery for those long takes/days.

(this is a subtle "please take my money" hint, Shijan)

So anyone except me feels that Strap Mounts are useful on this cage, or everyone use this camera only 2kg V-mount battery and 3kg Cine zoom on the rig ? yesterday i screwed two D-ring screws at the bottom of the cage and it hangs on my neck as photo camera really well. The main problem with existing D-ring screws and other strap mounts that they are always prone to unscrew.

I also have another more universal concept that actually was sneaked from vintage strap.

I like the D-ring idea better

During testing i found that rounded D-ring shape adjust strap better. But it is less compact and in some situations may intersect with HDMI and TRS connectors.

                        Just to compare:

DIY Test sample. Center pins taken from disassembled VHS tape. Strap taken from vintage Sony Hi8 camera.
Overall it is not so good as expected. Not easy to screw up to the cage because center aluminum stands are rotating and center pin prone to jump off the place. I also afraid that if aluminum base suddenly bended over time, center pin will jump off the place and camera will fall off from the strap.
