Since the mounting plate clears the motor, does this mean we can use more front heavy setups since we can move the camera farther back?

That's my understanding, but we'll need to wait for the first reviews.

BTW, one can use a Manfrotto 501PL plate with the QR. Going from the tripod to the gimbal is going to be a lot more convenient.

It looks like preorders are up for $1,000. Battery is estimated to run for 26 hours.

I hope their software is better for this one. I had to sell my H2 because it was such a pain in the ass to balance and recalibrate after lens changes and what not.

I think it's safe to assume that every gimbal manufacturer will have an update with this new design in the next few months. I hope Zhiyun will update theirs and make it $700, like they did with the excellent Crane.

I got the first version of the PilotFly but I was disappointed on how finicky it was to properly adjust it. The load requirements didn't help with my BMPCC + 12mm SLR Magic + Manfrotto quick release plate + UV/IR Filter + ND Filter. It was obviously too heavy.

The SimpleBGC was anything but simple. Make a software simple enough for non-technical operators, I dont need a Phd using that awful software.
