  • V Mount Batteries

Any Recommendations for V-mount batteries? The ones I had been buying from Adorama have been out of stock forever now. I think I've seen a lot of people on here say they use the MaxOAKs on amazon but I bought one and sent it back because the DTAP port isn't properly keyed so you can easily reverse polarity Maybe that has been fixed?

I've been using IDX batteries for a couple of years now and they have served me very well.

I have the IDX Eundra VL-4SI charger and like it a lot. I think I'll go with some IDX then I was thinking about trying some of the cheaper batteries some of the guys use on here but what's a few hundered if it ruin's your rig with bad power.

I picked up two of the IDX Endura ELITE Batteries.

If you don't like the MaxOaks (I have 5 and all work well). IndiProtools Batteries are good - https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...nt_li_ion.html
I have the one with the screen and I have used it for about 5 months. Make sure you buy a charger.

Have you tired to plug in the dtap reverse? The square ends on the one I got from them was too rounded allowing any d-tap cable to plug in either direction. Not Good.. I'd rather not have a dtap on the battery than have one someone can inadvertently fry something with (considering a lot of stuff doesn't even had a diode in place for polarity protection for some reason).

properly keyed? what? lol, i have several max oaks and they all work fabulously. the port is standard, maybe what you're plugging into it has a malformed plug.

On the budget side of things I've had good luck with these,

              https://www.amazon.com/Li-ion-Lithiu...-mount+battery

and I used one of these on set last weekend

              https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I put it on the back of my 4.6K to start the day and used it to power the camera and an Ikan D5 monitor, and we went all the way to lunch without having to change.

I can vouch for IDX batteries. Recent ones i love are Coreswx Hypercore. Great build, dtap, usb, lcd reading and has a chip so you can see percentage on the cam

No it wasn't a malformed DTAP plug. Any of the DTAP stuff would plug in either direction. I sent them pictures of how the port was made incorrect because the square side was rounded off when it shouldn't be which allows the DTAPs to plug in either way. It was several years ago. They said they would fix it so maybe they have now.

I've used these cheap batteries before and it worked out. They are, as I said, cheap and okay.

I have been using the Indipro tools and a couple of Swiftronix (now called Core SWX) as well.

It hasn't been my experience. I could potentially reverse the plug but I'm always careful when plugging d-tap.
