I've not been able to shoot much for a while, so I've been playing with old footage to see how much DR I can extract, and to get the most pleasing base image I can. This is what I've come up with after about an hour of fiddling. All frames from 1080 ProRes 422 (I think, some of these are a year old).

My goal was to create something that will work as a starting point for the majority of what I shoot, so 90% outdoors in natural high contrast light. Not exactly the 4Ks strongest area but I think I did okay. I need to figure out how to properly expose for this look, it's supposed to visually ease highlight clipping, but you can only do so much with "12" stops
. I'm also pretty happy with how well this hides FPN even with slightly lifted shadows (very slightly, not "muddied"). I'll keep this updated as I refine it and test it with more footage.
Constructive comments and suggestions welcome!
