  • Happy Halloween - BMPCC Style!

What do you do when you have less than 2-minutes of under exposed BMPCC footage from your friend's Halloween party but they really want you to do something with it?

    You make some MAYHEM!

    That's what you do.

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Just got a PM from someone wanting to know how the swirling rays coming out of the pumpkin were done.

It's one of the BORIS Continuum effects. "Rays Textured".
(I thought it was kinda cheesy, but they said it would be just what they wanted on some commercial. Yeah, I could see that.)

Thanks mate. I was going for the old Hammer Studios horror movie vibe. The red gothic text and poetry and all.
But I needed to update the groove underneath.

                Thanks boss!

I was honestly amazed..again...by what you can pull out of the BMD RAW image. The B&W stuff had heavy FX grain added obviously, but this stuff was grossly underexposed and I put NO noise reduction on it, and the original files are flat and dull. Crazy how you can push this BMD footage around.

Man - no more cameras that don't shoot RAW...EVER.

Ha ha ha. Cool. I've fallen in love with the 4K Prores but whenever I shoot pocket RAW, I'm still blown away.
