Probably not as the main cam. On most of the sets pics he has put in the past I see Alexas as A cams. But maybe they are B and C cams. or 2nd unit. Only he will know though...but I doubt he's using them as main cams.

More from Kholi. Nice colours...nice skin tones. Holds the detail in the snow well also.

2 questions for you Kholi if you see this. Did you think you needed the IR cut? I know you stopped shooting with it on the other cams but I see you are shooting with it now on this. Also were u using the BMD shouldermount kit for this or just hand holding it ?

Kholi, I took the liberty to post this on the official forum in the thread for Official videos. Hope you don't mind. What a great video demonstrating so many stellar features of the camera. And at last some HFR to boot!

Yeah, with the SLR Vari ND at heavy stops it needs IR Cut for sure. Never needed the extra IR Cut with the Hoyas, however.

Just handholding, because the PL camera that I had for the weekend didn't have a shoulder kit bolted to it and I also had my EF camera with me which did have to shoulder kit. Kinda wish I had set it up but didn't get around to it before we went out. Edit; also the last shots are a 135/2... so like, no shoulder kit or anything, that thing isn't gonna be steady, especially in my hands.

As an additional bit of information: the footage could also look alot better. Not just marginally, but alot. It was pretty quickly adjusted at like one in the morning, and most of what looks clipped is so far away from being clipped. What I would like to do is learn how to mimic an Alexa-like "hazy" sky but with creamy detail.

Also, I don't think it's a bad idea to wear diffusion on the camera for highlights overall. Not because they're unpleasant, but now that we have so much detail and DR, why not start building your own look? I haven't had enough time to mess with the Black Satin on it but I will next time I go out.

Thanks for the info Kholi. I didn't see anything clipping...well not that I remember at least...maybe the sliver car had some secular highlights, but it didn't look bad at all.

The shot that cuts from snow to cliff side, at the water tower, the sky in the background looks clipped, just not "clippy" I guess. But all of the details there. And, a rather heavy amount of shadow detail as well. Maybe went too contrasty (as usual).

                  Secular, huh?

Footage looks incredible, Kholi. At this point I'm convinced that this is the last camera I'll ever personally own for the next 5, maybe 10 years.

"A Land Before Time" is probably my favorite so far. I can imagine it being used for some sort of a sci fi movie. The landscapes are incredibly beautiful.

A nice display of skin tones IMO in this new footage here. https://vimeo.com/152128959

                                *sigh*

I don't mean to troll and no disrespect to you all on this board - I consider many of you close as brothers as I cut my teeth on the BMCC and obsessed over checking this forum daily... But this footage looks like 7D on a bad day.

I'm starting to lose faith in this religion.
