Will there be an area on bmcuser.com for people to have threads on their entries like there was on dvxuser.com?
That's one of the things I'm particularly excited about. I've worked in advertising for almost 20 years as a writer and creative director, so I've got some friends who I'll be pulling in to judge the entries. You'll get as much feedback as they're able to give based on schedule, but I'm sure you'll find it useful.

As far as threads go, we're still working that out. For now, let's keep all the discussion here in this thread.

Just noticed the fest is on (currently travelling) but,
        I'm in.

I had an idea some time before about this topic and I believe it's time to make it . I'm a big enthusiast of recycling.

        There will be fun

And I'd like to announce our first addition to the prize "pool" for this festival…

Our friends at CoreMelt, makers of awesome plug-ins for FCPX, have graciously donated one of their "CoreMelt EVERYTHING Bundles!" (It's a $300 value, people.) Yes, that means everything they make, including all 220 plugins in the V2 Plugin Set, TrackX, SliceX, AND the amazing Lock and Load Stabilizer! You can find more information about CoreMelt plugins at their website…

            http://www.coremelt.com/

So please, put your Internet hands together and welcome CoreMelt as the first sponsor!

              @Stephen
Rereeding the rules, there are some points I miss.

Where I have to submit the video? We will have a threat for the entries or a form (like from gdocs)?
Where I have to upload, vimeo/youtube/sending by dropbox?

There is any aspect ratio restrictions?
Format of the file submitted if a file is send?

              I'm very interested.

We'll have upload instructions as we get closer to the end of the fest, but we'll probably use some combination of YouTube/Vimeo and Dropbox for submissions.

There are NO aspect ratio restrictions. And either an .MP4 or .MOV file should be fine, but again, we'll have more details as we get closer to the end.

And this morning we have yet another sponsor on-board…

                    Neat Video!

They've agreed to offer a license to any ONE of their products as a prize for the festival!

Now, if you don't know who Neat Video is, kindly get out from under whatever rock is on top of you. They make what many (myself included) think is the absolute best noise reduction/removal software out there. Here's some more information from their website…

We've been working hard to bring some awesome new sponsors into the mix for you guys, and we've got another one…

                      Aputure

They're a company that makes all sorts of incredible filmmaking gear. I just saw their new Lightstorm LS LED fixtures at NAB, and they're killer. For this "SpotFest," they're generously donating one of these…

                      20150420155617380.jpg

(Not the camera and lens, of course.) It's their DEC MFT Wireless Remote Adapter! It adapts EF lenses to m4/3, and allows you to control both aperture and focus with the remote control. Think of it as a wireless follow focus for EF lenses!

                      More info here…

So let's welcome Aputure as our newest sponsor for the Spring 2015 "SpotFest!"

I shall be in and will do my best to convince you all to recycle, which I might say living in LA it doesn't seem like something people care too much about!

Glad to do it, vic. I just hope we get a lot of interest/entries. If we do, I think we'll see this become a regular feature here on the forum.
