Any idea if it can be programmed with A/B points with S-curved speeds? Been thinking how to build one :)

I'll keep this in mind next time I have to film an LSD hallucination sequence.

That is extreme shallow DOF if you want that.

Do you think this iFootage motorize ability is too extreme for a slider?

There's currently a kickstarter for a slider like this that's a lot more affordable: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jj1/axis360-modular-motion-control-for-cameras

The iFootage one look more sturdier and the slider itself has a proven track record. The kickstarter one still has this "project" look about it, can do the same thing but less lively. Key thing is ease of setup, speed variation, movement and reliability. I'm sure the Chinese will undercut the competition in prices when both hit the market.

Cinetics has a proven track record for quality as well. The only advantage I could see in the iFootage one is speed.

How is the cinetics more affordable? It starts at $900 and up while the shark is available now for under $600.

Hogo, with the motors, the Shark will sell for around $2,600.00. That is more than the Cinetics fully loaded.

According to Newsshooter and elsewhere all said it is around $2000. Don't know where you got the additional $600 from.
If you already own a iFootage Shark slider it will cost you $1400 for the motor kit.

I am so glad I don't have to wear a jacket and tie on set.

I found the slider video to be strangely hilarious after reading the LSD comment. Where's the footage?
