Nice zoom range from 12-32mm at the same size at the 14mm pancake!

The aperture will probably be in the range of 3.5-6.5, maybe another cheaper and more compact alternative to the 12-35?

Probably replacing the discontinued 14-42 pancake zoom which is 3.5-5.6.
The problem is the need for a OIS power switch, which the discontinued version does not have (even though listed by BMD as compatible) for OIS use on the Pocket.

I hope BlackMagic will be able to find a way to communicate with OIS function of newer lens without the switch, from a thread in the official forum BMD said they were working on it, but not giving any more detail.

My understanding is that Panasonic needs to give them proprietary info for this.
I don't know if that's going to happen but I'd have to think it's in Panasonic's interest if it means selling more lenses to tens of thousands of BMPCC users.

Has anyone tried out this lens on the pocket? How does it work without a focus ring?
