Hello,

How do you read out your sdd's from your bmcc, can you simply connect it to a pc with a USB cable. Or do you need a extra Sata connection/ SSD drive reader? As I would like to buy a bmcc, but would be great knowing up front. So when on vacation, I can simply bring a laptop and start pumping data over when the SSD is full. And then clean the SSD for more shooting.

Thanks

You canot transfer data from the ssd when in camera.
You have to take the ssd out. I put it in a cheap usb3 data case from icebox, cost me 17euro.
Connect that to PC or Mac and your good to go. Even on vacation ;-)

oh thats too bad. And I have read that you cannot delete content on the SSD on the bmcc itself. That would be a nice firmware update. And will save me time/money.

Cheers

Keep in mind that the TRIM function is not triggered via USB2/3. You have to use eSATA if you want to avoid the SSD slowing down over time.

What exactly is the TRIM function?

Can you not just connect the drive to a free sata cable from inside the computer and then the power cable directly too?

Sure. But the computer has to be open, and you have to shut it down every time.
USB3 is nothing slower...
