This (http://www.canonrumors.com/2012/05/a-brief-hands-on-canon-ef-24-f2-8-is/) seems to be a very interesting lens for the kind of work you would to with the BMC EF. I will definitly check it out, once it is avaible.

With my AF100 my standard lens is a 24-70 f2.8 lens. I like the range and this is a very good sharp lens. It lacks IS but I find this does not matter for my style of shooting, often on a StediCam for hand held or carefully shouldered with intentional moves, but 90% of the time on sticks.

The old one actually has a nice feature, it moves forward when wide as opposed to as tele. This makes the lens shade very effective and it works well with a mattebox.

I think this will be my most used lens on the BMCC cam as well.

There should be some good deals on the old one now that the new version is shipping from Canon.

The prime 24 will of course be much smaller and lighter and this can be an advantage at times, so yes this will be an interesting lens as well.
