I am a stills guy that is learning Video. I shot a personal project to try out my BMC with the Red Rock Eye Spy Deluxe Shoulder Rig. I used a Voigtlander 40mm F2 lens primarily but also the Olympus Zuiko 24mm F2 for the wide opening scenes. ND filtering was with the B + W screw on glass with IR added. Shot on Pro Res and graded in Resolve, then edited in FCPX. You can see it here;

How performs the Olympus 24?

Its great on the BMC, not so great on my full frame stills cams ( soft on edges ). Fairly sharp wide open at F2. It has a warm color tone which makes it tough to match up to my Voigtlander pancake lenses so I am selling it. It is nice and compact if your into keeping your rig small.

Thanks ChrisL. I've asked because I have already a set of OM lenses (24, 28, 35, 50 and 200), just waiting to be mounted on the BMCC. Fantastic video, thanks for share.

Sharpness and res look real nice. The grade wasn't my cup of tea. Tired of low contrast grades..but that's just personal. Otherwise it looks good.

Yeah when the shots were at full blacks (contrast), def. an Alexa-ish camera!

Besides that, this was an interesting little mini-doc, so cool to see inside this world. Damn those brands look like they hurt! Ouch!

Thanks Logan, those were actually my favorites as well. I uploaded a shorter version so those time references you stated above have changed. Thanks to everyone else who replied as well.

Wait - so this is the EF mount, correct? Do you have an adaptor for those lenses? Thanks for posting!

Yes, this is the EF mount Camera. The Voigtlander Ultron 40mm F2 is an EF mount lens ( no adaptor needed ) and the electronic aperture works fine. The Olympus Zuiko 24mm F2 is an old lens with a Leitax EF mount adaptor.

I also have the Voigtlander 20mm EF mount lens which I can confirm that the electronic aperture works fine as well with the BMC.

Why not sell your Voigtlanders instead and get the 21/2 and 40/2 OMs? :)

Good call. I guess at this point I like the pancakes because my handheld rig stays small like my attached photo ( I sawed the bmc handles in half ).2248 the voigts are cheaper, but the OM's are faster. I am not much of a gearhead, for now I am satisfied.
