Just uploading a sequence I shot very early this morning,

a mix of prores (film) and 2.5K (the glidecam shots). Ended up getting the dreaded black spot:

I've uploaded a dng of a frame to https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0BzwcKBSr-M-8dmlXclNMSGpsMjA/edit if anyone wants a proper look.

how difficult is it to fix this issue in post? I've seen it on Alexa a few times and the DPs I talked to said it was no issue to correct it. Same with the bmc?

Greg, what part of Sydney is this? Looks so familiar but I can't seem to pin it down.

Just use a qualifier set to key black only, no grey value. Use the colour picker and hit the black spot. Then make that node totally white. If there's anything else in frame that's totally black, then I'd use a power window round the spot and hit apple/ Ctrl T to track the spot. Might wanna lie the key a bit too, get rid of the crazy pink that sometimes shows up.

Thanks Deggan, I'll give it a go.

Fabian I just cut out of the shot before it happened.

Simon, it's Cooks River in Marrickville/Earlwood, end of Illawarra Road.

Here's some more tests for the same project, just uploaded.

Ha, love that angle at 00:18 - how Australian can somebody look?

At least from a German perspective this bloke is the perfect prototype. :)

I knew it looked familiar - my older sister lived in Marrickville for a year.

Thanks for the footage, keep it up.

Stevie does seem to get cast in those sorts of roles http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1113003/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1. Cameron - the other actor - gets a lot of cops and paramedic roles...
