Judge for yourself, I'll withhold my comments (even though I posted them on DVXuser already) until more people join the discussion.

Well, to me, it looks beautiful -- but then again -- I am immersed in the story, the sound design, etc -- so, as a whole, this succeeds. You've probably forgotten more about cinematography than I've ever known, so I'm interested in your opinion.

I think it looks incrediwhale. Never really been impressed with Sony images, but this one is a keeper it looks like. The motion looks really good, DR is definitely tops, just not exactly sure which way to sway on color. There's some good and some "huh?" in there.

Can't wait to get my hands on this camera! T_T

Stealing that! =)

Yes, some of the grading choices were not what I would have chosen, but that's taste, not the camera. I look forward to seeing what you do with this cam. I was blown away by your work with the GH2, so this will be face-melting, I am sure.

Hey you can get a decent image for $32,000 plus lenses and professional kit, and professional DP... Who'd have thunk it?

WOW...I got so caught up in the story and imagery, I forgot I was watching this short to inspect the camera! A few shots at the beginning made me think, "Oh that looks like video", but then a few seconds later I was entranced by the detail and color range, haha.

Love the bar/nighclub scenes. Kinda jealous, as I was hoping to do something like this but with a hint of black lights, as a fun shoot once I got my BMCC.

Wonder how they shot that...

Enjoyed the inside footage, did not like any of the outdoor footage, especially the shots of him actually digging.

Almost every shot here was really nice... this is pretty impressive. If I had to nitpick, I might call out the forest shot of him digging, that was the only shot that didn't look quite as good as the rest.

But overall this gets sooo much closer to the F35 in terms of the image I like to see. What the hell is with Sony... swear they've got this magic pixie dust they sprinkle on their top of the line, F35/55/65 that just simply doesn't reach their other cameras. Not talking about DR, resolution or other obvious metrics, but something elusive that gives them so much more of a film-like touch... just can't put my finger on it and it's frustrating.

It's called a professional production ;)

You would see horrible stuff too if the price was lower.
