So definitely not a BMCC killer (as expected) and after the price cuts not really a RED killer either.

Of course it is not a bmcc killer.. I can't afford this now.. but I think it is a nice camera for that price.. I don't know about image quality but from spec sheet, I think it is nice!!

These cameras are not really an anything "killer." They are more like creepy stalkers that make other camera fall down the stairs and then they run up to the other cameras master bedrooms and grab a pair of their underwear out of the drawer, smell them, and they run off into the night while the other cameras nurse their swollen ankles.

LOL, why are you guys stating "not a BMC killer"? LOL. Keep it up guys! Even comparing this to the Scarlet is quite funny. LOL.....

I think we should be saying it's not a BMCC alternative amidst the delayed delays.

Hey folks, this is an opportunity to get an F3 as the price drops. Great camera.

Is the F55 suppose to replace the F65 or sit in between the F65 and F5? There's not a ton of footage out there but from the little I've seen it doesn't have that "WOW, what an image" sort of feeling like I got seeing stuff from the F65. Not saying it looks bad, it's great but I don't think it's a F65 replacement at lower price point which is what I think some were hoping for.

It's not supposed to replace the F65 at all. Wait until the camera get's into the generally talented hands that aren't Sony promo shooters.

I can see the Sony cadence video look is still there in the elephant film. When the image is a bit static it is very very good. But once you have a lot motion, something is not right. As if there is smearing or more motion blur, looks very video then.

They used a 360degree (open) shutter for quite a few shots. Who knows why. That probably won't be a limitation of the camera, probably just a peculiar choice or mistake by the operator.
