Hi

Does anyone know if the Voigtlander Nokton 17.5 mm and the SLR Magic 12mm require zip gears to match up to a follow focus

I see they have threads over their focus but I dont know if they are a .8 pitch.

Thanks for your help!

I use this, and they work perfectly with "small" lenses like the Olympus OM series. Cheap and top quality.

That is wonderful Morgan.
Have been getting quite a few zip gears of http://www.robertwhite.co.uk/ which always ships instantly, highly recommended.

These zip gears are not only lower profile, but I've never had them slip like the ones I got with my follow focus, where the teeth were too soft, so it slipped on a couple of older lenses that did not have a butter smooth focus ring, now even these older lenses is working smoothly and perfectly.

Looking forward to getting a handful of these minis for my Olympus and some older cine lenses.

The SLR Magic 12mm actually has a lens gear made by the company:

You'll have to contact them and convince them. Apparently, people have been over tightening them and actually damaging the lens.
