Yep all over that at REDUSER.

+1 the "F premiere" remark made me roll on the floor!;) there is only 2 small features that I now miss from FCP7 and they really are just very small features hopefully they will make their way into the next update or two!

$13,000 for a module that acts as a wireless camera assistant and records ProRes? So if you buy a new working Scarlet camera today you are looking at a near $15,00 to get that up and running plus another $13,000 for the Meizler Module puts you at near $30,000. Sounds like a great deal!

While the Scarlet will accept the module, it's geared more for Epic and big time productions. A 1ms delay is quite impressive with the ability to control through the iPad. https://vimeo.com/50671243

Less than half the price of a base Alexa, about on par with current midrange pro broadcast cameras.

I normally rent expensive cameras when the budget allows and would not pay to own such a camera but if I where in the market, I would gladly spend the $70,000 on an Alexa versus $30,000 for a Scarlet with the module. The Alexa at any price under a $100,000 is a good deal. The Scarlet plus the Meizler Module at any price over $20,000 is not. The images coming of the Red cameras just don't seem all that pleasing to me. If Peter Jackson with an unlimited budget at his disposal can't get good skin tones from an Epic based on seeing the Hobbit trailer in Imax, how in the world am I? The Alexa makes getting good skin tones a breeze. Hence to me it's worth the premium price Arri charges for an Alexa.

I thought this as well.... and then I actually found out what Premiere is capable of, and it makes an absolute mockery of FCP7.

I used Final Cut for 7 years and it was the first editing program I ever used. Just my opinion, but it'll be a cold day in hell when I move back over to Final Cut.

But who cares about FCP7? "Does Premiere make a mockery of FCPX?" is a more interesting question. I can't answer that because I have only used FCPX.

Ive used them all for many years.
I started with Premiere 1.0 and no not Premiere Pro 1.0.
Then Final Cut and then Avid for a very long time.
Went back to Premiere Pro along with FCP 7 and now FCPX.
What Im getting at is they are software and all do the same job period.
Most that started on FCP find any app to be new and fresh.
I never got that since I worked in all of them.
This is the norm with multiple studios.
They all have different workflows.
You have to adapt fast like its an hourly charge :P

I've not used FCPX either, I used FCP7 up until about 1 month ago.

It certainly did pre-10.0.0.5 update. Now though, while Premiere is still superior, FCPX is certainly much improved to the point that it provides a worthy alternative to those committed to the FCP workflow.
