I've been looking at getting a Olympus ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 9-18mm F4-5.6 for my BMPCC and was wondering if anyone here has used this lens. My main question would be about it's compatibility with the BMPCC. Does it need some kind of adaptor for it to work properly? I checked this link http://forum.blackmagicdesign.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=23416 which suggests it needs an MMF-3 adaptor. Can anyone confirm this?

Cheers in advance!

Yes, you can use this lens on the Pocket camera, but as it is a superior Four Thirds lens, not MFT, you, will need either the Olympus or Panny MFT adapter. I use the Panny adapter, as I had if from my AF100, with a Panny Leica 14-50mm zoom, also a nice "variable" focal length zoom lens (not parfocal, and breaths at wider focal lengths. On the other hand, the Olympus Four Thirds Pro Zooms, especially the larger 14-35 f/2.0, is parfocal (on my AF100 it is, not tested on the Pocket). The MMF-3 adapter gives you Iris and push to focus control on the lens from the Pocket Camera, plus the Dour Rhirds lenses have better IQ than their MFT counterparts. Olympus also makes a 9-18mm MFT zoom lens too.

The Olympus ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 9-18mm F4-5.6 is a micro 4/3 lens. it needs no adapters. I know this because I own this lens and use it regularly on my BMPCC.

i also own the 9-18 four thirds version, NOT mft. The FT version is far superior. Love this lens on the pocket.

Olympus makes two versions, one for MFT, and the better Four Thirds version which was first, and requires an adapter. The MFT version of course, does not.
