I used my NEX-7 to test the image circle of the lenses.
(23.5 * 13.2 recorded area)
verses the black magic
(15.8 * 8.9 recorded area)
verses the s16 frame size
(11.9 * 6.7 recorded area)

(the inside square is a s16 gate)

As you see, both the 12 and the 8 vignette very clearly in the black magic sensor.

I also tested a Canon 10:1 (6.6 - 66mm Zoom) (http://www.zgc.com/s/p/canon_sc6666mm.html) On both its ranges.

This continues to show a poorly thought out camera sensor size by black magic. Maybe if there was a way to force crop shooting to a the super 16 sized sensor but that means a sub HD quality (1824 x 1024) and I am sure the bayer looks very poor 1:1.

I'd really want to like this camera, but as far as professionally lensing goes, it is useless.

Uh ... You make it sound like a disaster.

The Tokina 11-16 Duclos mod should be fine on this camera with a PL to EF adaptor.

I think the S35 Ultra Prime 8mm will also work.

Finally a Red 17-50 should make for a very nice coverage range. For that matter so should the Zeiss LWZ.2

I'd like a 60 or 65 prime for portraiture, and then I can round things out with the new Zeiss 70-200 compact zoom. Or the Angeniuex Optimos ...

If you want PL lenses.

That said, I expect to lens mine with Canon EF mount lenses. The 2.8 stop should give me a DoF similar to what I am used to at t/4. The Ultra Prime s35 is prohibitive ... It's cheaper to just get a Scarlet and use the Tokina 11-16 if you need to be that wide.
