Has anyone here worked with Zolinger products?

http://zolinger.com/

I am in the market for a slider dolly, and the Zolinger slider seems to be a very different take on the concept. Any opinions or experiences with other sliders you would like to share?

cheers

it appears to be just a chinese knockoff of a Cinevate Pegasus system.

They're saying they are a German/Swiss manufacturing operation with high quality materials. All their stuff looks fairly decent.

It just looks a lot like this:

http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/546107947/Slider_Dolly_Track_Camera_Video_Stabilization.html

Which is also a cinevate knockoff.

Zolinger seem to be just selling from their Ebay account in Washington State. It just seems to be a bunch of Chinese equipment with a european name.

I think you're right about the item being identical. Someone is bsing, unless that chinese company is merely a distributor - doesn't seem so.

As for 'knock off', I doubt that Cinevate holds a patent on that design, since that concept has been around in countless engineering situations.

The ebay thing I keep noticing because I search for stuff near me and Zolinger always has stuff for sale. Not the best look for a distributor , plus its always on Vancouver Craigslist.

here is the deal of the week:

as for Cinevate, they were the first to get it together and to spend the time designing stuff like the 100mm bowl.
Super easy to knockoff once you have the cnc parts to copy.

Yeah the Zolinger stuff is just relabeled chinese gear with a more "flashy" presentation... imho quite questionable - especially that they are writing about patent pending unique designs blabla european made blabla. Poor customers!

It seems the main company selling this stuff on Alibaba is this chinese distributor (or manufacturer even? dunno) .. http://www.camera-video-broadcast.com/ - if you look through there product listings you will find a bunch of stuff you've seen on eBay etc. with other "brand" names ;)

I would like to quickly share my experience with Zolinger. I bought the Travel jib... I needed a lightweight and compact jib that can support heavier cameras. Built quality is very good and price was reasonable. No idea where it's built, but I don't regret the buy. I couldn't find anything in my price range that offers the same functionality of the Zolinger travel jib. Very cool design.

You made an account to post this in a two year old thread? That's not suspicious at all.
